What preschool PTA (Parents teachers association) meeting is like in Cameroon Preschool

So we had a PTA Meeting in school.

It's November, so this Meeting was just for the parents and teachers of the nursery, to discuss some important upcoming events like the Christmas party, how it's going to be organized, how much the parents are to pay for each child, their attire for the day, the food type, the gifts ideas, the time the party is to start, etc ...

December is usually one of the most hectic month for nursery teachers because of the  Christmas feast preparation.

You have to intensify training with the kids that is, get them all to say their rymes, sing their songs, act drama and dance somehow perfectly before that big day.

We all know how kids forget easily so everyday is basically practice till the big day.

To make our work easier, we usually start their practice in November giving the teachers atleast one and a half month to get the kids ready . Even though it's still a short time considering you're dealing with 3 to 4 yrs old who basically would never follow the right dancing steps or sometimes forget what to say.

Anyways, the Christmas party wasn't the only thing discussed, some other topics which are not related to the upcoming Christmas party like classroom management.

Some parents complained about teachers not taking extra care of their kids and their belongings which are all nothing new since some parents wants the teachers to pay 99% attention on their child and 1% on the others.

Some will go ahead to bribe the teachers but then it's just the politics of preschool teaching.

No matter what, as a teacher, you give your attention to all the children equally. And Keep in mind you can't always satisfy the parents. It's just the perks of being a preschool teacher. Although some parents are very understanding and easy to deal with (I just love such parents), however, most of the time there is one who becomes a pain in the butt.

At the end, the head teacher and teachers answered the questions the parents had, and later food and drinks served and the meeting ends.

That's how PTA meetings usually are.

This meeting was calm and organized compared to the other PTA meetings the school has had because in sometimes there is usually arguments and even fighting.

Sometimes parents are the actual kids.
